What we measure and price

We measure and price single trade packages. Mostly for subcontractors bidding to a main contractor, sometimes for the main contractor checking what came back.

We come back within one working day

You get the scope we would measure, a fixed fee and a delivery date.

Scaffold face schedule for a facade remediation tender, listing length, height to parapet, scaffold height and face area for each elevation with ground and access notes

Scaffold face schedule for a facade remediation tender: lengths, heights, areas and access notes per elevation.

Who does the work

Robert Kowalski. Twenty years measuring and pricing construction work in the UK, Australia and Poland. Facade and cladding remediation, drylining and screed, firestopping, structural and masonry packages.

You deal with me directly. The person who measures your drawings is the person who answers the phone when your contracts manager queries a rate. I do not subcontract the measurement out, and I do not run more tenders at once than I can take proper care of. Where I use software to speed up measurement, I say so, and every quantity that leaves here has been checked against the drawings by hand.

What to send us

Drawings (PDF or DWG), the specification or NBS output, the tender bill if there is one, and your return date. IFC or Revit if you have a model. We do not need one.

Attach a file up to 20 MB with the form. For a larger pack, use the Document download link field or ask us for an upload link.

What happens next

We read the pack and come back within one working day with the scope we would measure, a fixed fee and a delivery date.

If it is not a package we can do well, we say so and tell you who does.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What do you need from me to start?

A: Drawings as PDF or DWG, the specification or NBS output, the tender bill if there is one, and your return date. We read IFC from Revit, ArchiCAD and Tekla if you have a model, but we do not need one — most of what we measure comes off 2D drawings.

Q: Is my package too small?

A: No. Most of what we do is single trade packages.

Q: What format does the takeoff or priced bill come back in?

A: Yours. Excel in your estimating layout, a CITE/eBQ file for import, or the bill format your main contractor has issued. Tell us what your estimator works in and we deliver to it.

Q: What does it cost?

A: Priced per package, quoted before we start. No hourly billing and no fee for scope we did not agree.

Q: How accurate are the quantities?

A: Quantities are measured to the drawings and the specification you send. Where the information is incomplete we list the assumption rather than absorb it.
